Dr. Susan Salvo, a thought leader with over 40 years in massage and academia, is a pioneer in evidence-informed practice. As an educator and author of two widely used textbooks, she presents globally and advances the field through her research. Susan contributes to the Massage Therapy Foundation, Body of Knowledge project, and interstate compact efforts. Her career focuses on advancing massage therapy, integrative healthcare, and education, influencing practitioners worldwide through her research, writing, and teachings.

Ruth Werner serves the massage therapy community through writing, education, and creative expression that informs and inspires. She began teaching massage therapy before graduating from school and continued educating students from 1984 to 2010 across programs in Washington, Massachusetts, and Utah, with a brief hiatus to raise her children. In 2005, she was honored with the Jerome Perlinski AMTA Council of Schools Teacher of the Year, a recognition that reflects both her passion for teaching and her engaging, theatre-informed approach to complex topics like pathology. Today, her focus is on developing live and online continuing education courses, specializing in pathology and related subjects, to support the growth of practicing therapists.

James Waslaski brings over 30 years of expertise in manual and elite sports therapy, pioneering pain-free orthopedic massage and advanced pain management techniques. A published author and international lecturer, he teaches nearly 45 seminars worldwide each year to a diverse range of healthcare professionals. His textbook, Clinical Massage Therapy: A Structural Approach to Pain Management, reflects his commitment to improving patient outcomes and therapist education.
A former paramedic with 20 years of trauma center experience, he has worked with collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes, including the 1996 Olympic Games and the New York Yankees. Honored with multiple awards, including induction into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame, he continues to shape the field through education, research, and global leadership.
